Second day of camp :)
Second day of Camp:)
we woke up to the relisation that we had to gather at the parade square at 7.30 for our morning flag raising ceremony. flag raising ceremony is important as it instills the sense of belonging to singapore in us. the morning exercise was not the usual stuff that we always do in camp. we did the "5BX". this exercise helped as it woke us up from our sleepy self that we were when we first gathered.
during breakfast, we had a delicious breakfast and that got us ready for our 2 challenges that were coming our way.the first challenge is called the team challenge pit. the pit challenges tests us on our confidence, trust and confidence. each member of the team is required to swing across a pool of water to a platform which was partially submerge in the pool. some people could not make it, however, everyone encouraged and we didnt give up hope on one another. this taught us how to forgive others even though, they brought inconvenience to us. the second challenge we did was the challenge rescue. the rescue challenge requires the members to transport a casualty in a stretcher across a few obstacles. this challenge was difficult but fun to do. during this challenge, however, we met with a few problems. example, our plank kept wobbling and the people who were crossing were put in a dangerous position to cross. also, the supporters didnt support the rescuers well enough, hence resulting in the rescuers falling which woud have us start the game again. however, we still managed to make almost to the end of the course, when the time went up. through this game, we learnt how to work together as a team and how to take confidence in each others decisions.
after the 2 challenges, we had 2 talks on terrorism. one is from the LTA about public transport security awareness. the other is from the SMRT about community emergency preparedness awareness. both talks were interesting and made us more aware of how much we could do to help singapore be a much safer country for everyone to live in.
during lunch, we had rice, fish, vegetables and tofu. the food was awesome.
next, we had to travel to SMRT for a detrainment exercise where we learnt how the main emergency facilities works. this provided us with more understanding on how to react when an emergency happens. this would benefit all of us.
So... what's smrt without sbs ? :D Besides , they are our key source of transport in Singapore . So , essentially , we headed to the sbs head office :D AND WHOAAAAA it was awesome :D the depot was huge . Literally , it's ginormous(gigantic + enormous ) ! Complete awesome-ness :D We had a ride on a typical sbs transit bus . But with the company of our awesome groupmates , the busride was comparable to a roller coaster ride . :D Haha , exxagerating . Anyway , we had a brief on the difference of tapping your ezlink card in and out . Though it does not makes much of a difference , it actually registers on the sbs database on how many commuters actually uses the bus daily . According to the data , sbs then allocate more bus for the commuters usage accordingly . (:
Yadda , yadda ......... we returned to our campsite , NACLI, and had a scrumptious dinner :D
THEN IT WAS THE FINAL GAME !!
THE BRAINKILLERRRRRRRR !!!
but it was definitely a time we got together , AND HEY !
Now we know satu is 1 in malay :D
And sembilan is 9 in malay too !
Not bad eh ?;) Resilence camp + Multi racial language course = YoReCa !!!! :D
Yes , truly ..... Wanna challenge in INDIAN + MALAY + CHINESE NOW ?!?! HAHAHA ok ... i kid i kid :D
