The morning exercise was longer than yesterday's. After breakfast, we were spilt into two teams and to complete various activities. The first activity we played was The Team Challenge Pit. We were supposed to transport planks of wood from one side to the other without our feets touching the floor. We were the 2ND team to finish but we scored the most points for collecting bean bags, donut, coloured balls and planks. Then the next activity we played was The Team Challenge Rescue. we were supposed to say a pledge on what we want to change after this camp and swing like a Tarzan to a platform dubbed YoReCa Island. Some attempts were unsuccessful but after the first try they got a sense of it already and their second try was successful. These two activity taught us about teamwork, communication skills and responsibility. This activity further enhanced the importance of saying out the pledge and doing it out, just like the one our group who pledge to uphold the our shared vision:Soaring High with the team.
Up next was the Land Transport Authority (Community Emergency Preparedness Awareness Talk). This talk really prepared us regarding the each and single important people who play a part by being resilience through sight, actions, hearing. Furthermore, we had lunch and some people even pledged to have less for the lunch previously at the Team Challenge Rescue. After lunch, feeling sleepy, we continued to the Singapore Mass Rapid Transit Community Preparedness Awareness Talk. It certainly was an enriching programme and it surely beefed us up in terms of being vigilant. We also had a shot at the detrainment exercise, where we exited a train through the emergency exit. Next up was the SBS Transit. We had a dry run on what we should do when there is indeed an attempted terrorist attack. We also know more about the Operation Control Centre. This gave us an insight of what should be done when such things happen. We then realised how fortunate Sinaporeans are, we have the various ministries, department and even the involvement of the public to establish a safe and secure of the nation. We all can be the builders of the safe and secure nation. We then had dinner and volleyball games. We both lost and won a match. Through this simple fun and engaging games we learn to have good communication skills, team spirit, the spirit of encouraging, never give up attitude and keep a cool head. As there a saying , your ATTITUDE determines your ALTITUDE.This is the last night and our team would like to take the oppurtunity to thanks the YoReCa camp coordinators, trainers, the MICA, People Association for giving us the chance to attend this very enriching and meaningful camps.
