day 3 of YoReCa Camp
Today we started with flag raising, followed by morning exercise.
The routine was as followed with some new improvised jumping jack and also what we've did yesterday. We headed for breakfast, we had black noodles and nuggets :D
We went for challenge pit, it is a situation whereby every team member need to say out his/her commitment and swing from one end to another platform called the Random Island. The difficulties that we faced were some lack of confidence as the water was the obstacle and also the lack of trust among the group. BUT, we managed to make it through to the Random Island, followed by our group cheer which was also random.
After that we proceed to the team challenge rescue, it is about getting from one end to another by staying connected. We had to stand on planks and move together as a group. Our group thinks that we should have better communication and remain calm at all times during the whole game and also PROCESS IS ALWAYS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE RESULTS! Group 1 came in first with a total score of 79! Followed by group 2 with a total score of 84. :D
We had a talk by the SMRT people about what should we do during emergency. It was fun as we learnt about how to communicate to the train captain via the Emergency Communication Button (ECB), also about other kinds of emergency buttons. And where the buttons are located at the platform or in the train.
We learnt about HOT and SALUTE protocol. It is to help us to identify suspicious articles and person. We can apply it at all times, at any time, and everywhere! :D We can log on to the website http://www.safejourney.sg/ It is a website targeted at youths of our age to know more about how what precaution to take during emergencies.
After lunch, we travelled to the Ang Mo Kio MRT station and had a brief talk about what we have learnt during the earlier talk. We also went to the Bishan Depot and apply what we've learnt, by using the emergency door located at the ends of the train in times of crisis. We had a short tea break and left for the Soon Lee Depot.
At the depot, we had a talk by the personnel and viewed the control room and had a reenactment of what would likely happened when a suspicious article is being detected in the bus.
We reached the campsite about 7.45pm and had dinner before having friendly matches with other groups of a game of improvised volleyball. :D
That's all for the day, today is our last night here, and we would be going home tomorrow...SAD.
Nights for the day!
