It's day 3 at Yo-Re-Ka and we're still kickin' and alive.
They day was filled with fun, laughter and joy. Not forgetting certain values we've learnt during the activities.
Morning was the same as yesterday, we had our flag raising and morning exercise then our meal. This was followed by the SMRT Community Emergency Preparedness Training to brief us on what to expect for our field trip later in the afternoon.
We then had 2 challenges organised for our group. Both required good teamwork and communication skills. The first challenge we did was the Team Challenge Pit which required us to transport ourselves from one end of the pond to another small and pathetic floating platform which had to accomodate 2 teams consisting of at least 40 people, using a rope swing. We could see that communication skills were very important in this challenge, and that the confidence of each team member is tested. Those who were unable to make it over on their first try, perservered and eventually we accomplished our task in just 50 minutes.
Our next challenge, Team Challenge Rescue required us to transport certain "survival items" which even included a stretcher with "casualties" inside! [ which were 2 wooden planks ] there were many obstacles and overall, it was a challenge testing our honesty, team sprit, determination.
We went to Ang Mo Kio mrt station to apply what we had learnt from this morning's briefing. Then we did a detrainment exercise at the Bishan Depot. We arrived back to NACLI early and played a few team games, unfortunately, our team failed from being in first, second or third place, so ya.. we were last, as usual.
that's all for today! time to practice our dance
